PrimeResi

Primeresi is the leading online news, insight & opinion resource for the UK’s luxury residential property sector. It is an invaluable tool for consummate property professionals.

The Challenge

Primeresi had a poorly performing WordPress site with legacy functionality and security issues. The site’s architecture limited ongoing development to both the news and directory content. A large content migration needed restructuring. An existing paywall and extensive subscriber base were also part of a legacy WordPress framework that needed rationalising and migrating.

The Solution

First, we did a site takeover of the existing site. Stability and performance were immediate priorities before planning anything else. Once the site was stable, the next phase included a comprehensive design and build from the ground up. We migrated thousands of articles and users. We restructured the content by separating it into articles and a directory-based web application.

Complete redesign

It was more evolution than a revolution for the logo and colours. The new logo is a simple, modern wordmark we matched with suitable typefaces. We decided on Lato as the lead to give the site an overall contemporary feel. Playfair Display is used for titles and headers to extend the personality of the wordmark and as a nod to the sector's past. The blue is similar to the original, but the yellow accent is now much fresher and more vibrant.

Personalised user dashboard

We created value for users by developing a personal user dashboard for premium subscribers. It enables them to track favourite articles, companies and property listings. Functionally, we needed to create a scalable database structure which now powers the web application content. This system is flexible and structured to allow for future content expansion.

Membership and access control

We built a complex access management system. Offering distinct Membership options and controlled access is essential to PrimeResi. There are four plans on offer to users, ranging from news article access and limited directory features to unlimited corporate access that unlocks all available features.
