Back in 2015 a team of four of us decided to take part in the Colour Obstacle Rush to raise money for the RNLI. Fast forward to 2018 and our Office Manager, Laurie, decided it was time to take on the challenge again.
After weeks of sunshine, the day dawned rather grey and slightly drizzly, but we weren’t about to let the weather dampen our high spirits. The team members—Laurie, Chris, myself (Mim) and Ant—met at the welcome point and got ourselves registered. Water was purchased, colour rush t-shirts were collected and we headed over to the warm up area to begin the day.
The Colour Obstacle Rush takes place at Aintree racecourse in Liverpool and covers a distance of 5K. Numerous inflatable obstacles are scattered across this distance and several colour stations. We’re pleased to say that after much running, ducking, diving and jumping, all four members of the team completed the course!
This year we decided to raise funds for the MS Society, a wonderful charity providing information and support to those living with MS and their loved ones. A couple of team members have friends and family impacted by Multiple Sclerosis, so it is a charity close to our hearts. We set out with the aim of raising £100, later increased to £150. Thanks to all the generous donations, you guys smashed that total and we were ecstatic to see that including gift aid we raised £494.25.
All in all a fantastic day was had. A massive thank you to everyone who donated from Chris, Laurie, Mim and Ant. If you would like to donate, we’ll be leaving our fundraising page open for a little while longer. Now it’s time to get thinking what our next challenge should be!
